Intro to MBLAQ
a.k.a. the greatest boy band you're not listening to
I'd been wanting to do an intro post on these guys so I guess this is my excuse.
MBLAQ is a five-member boy band created by world star Rain, whom you might recognize from the esteemed film Ninja Assassin and from his legendary rivalry with Stephen Colbert. If all else fails, look for an attractive Asian guy with really nice abs who strips a lot. It's probably him. Since then, MBLAQ has taken more creative control over their music, and it is my personal opinion that they just keep getting better. This post is my extremely tongue-in-cheek introduction to MBLAQ, and I hope you decide to check them out.

Likes: Working out, making an arse of himself on nationwide TV, being a drama queen

Also known for: Being the muscles babo, falling off chairs and occasionally the stage, being the frequent victim of wardrobe malfunctions, saying things only he fully understands (and maybe not even that)

Just Blaq (2009)
I admit I'm not a huge fan of their earlier work, but it's great for entertainment value. "Oh Yeah" is just hilariously awkward and well worth watching. The "G.O.O.D. Luv" video (the one they filmed for "Art of Seduction" and not the "official" release) is also worth a watch because it's basically just them acting cute and dorky.
Oh Yeah (official video) | G.O.O.D. Luv
Definitely a better single than "Oh Yeah" (with much improved costumes and styling, at least in live performances). The official vid is one of my favorite k-pop videos, not only for the eye candy but because I loved the way it was shot and that it actually has a storyline (which is fairly straightforward, a rare occurrence in k-pop videos). Also, Joon is very, very pretty when he cries.
Y (official video)
Their first full-length album. I would definitely recommend you check this one out first, if you're interested in MBLAQ's music. Specifically, the sublime perfection that is "Cry" and its MV. There really aren't any weak tracks here, aside from the remixes (not a big fan of remixes, sorry). They also promoted "Stay" and "Again" (which you can find on the repackaged version).

Your Luv (2011)
This is MBLAQ's first Japanese-language mini-album, consisting entirely of original songs (rather than Japanese versions of their K-pop songs). I admit I am not a big fan of J-Pop, so I'll leave it to the J-Pop connoisseurs in here to judge whether or not this album does the genre justice. I can say, however, that I jam to "Your Luv" all the time. The MV is hilariously cracky and low-budget so of course I recommend checking it out.

Their best album to date imo. All of the tracks are quality. "Mona Lisa" is probably their strongest single so far. It makes accordion music attractive. No, really. Just listen to it. This is a perfect mini for jammin' in the car or working out.

MBLAQ has also done several variety shows, including but not limited to Idol Army, Sesame Player, MBLAQ Goes to School, and Art of Seduction (not what it sounds like, lol). They have also appeared as guests on other variety shows such as Running Man and Star Golden Bell. Watching them on these shows made me love them even more. This isn't easy for me to picspam, so I will try to convey their adorkable hilarity in the best way I know how--gifs. I did not make these gifs.
(Yes, I know obvious biases are obvious, but I'm very sleepy and under a deadline)
I would highly suggest poking around youtube and checking out clips from their variety appearances (some yt accounts have uploaded entire subtitled episodes). It's worth it, trust me.
And thus concludeth my picspam. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed!
Unfortunately, I can't recall exactly where all of the pictures here came from. Many of them have been sitting on my external forever and I have no idea where they came from. Most of the recent scans came from Mini, I believe. The Mona Lisa album art scans are by mrfluffbunny.
Credit also goes to supersyncspaz7's BSB intro post, which inspired the format of this one.
